Scenarios build your imagination

WHAT IS A SCENARIO?

A scenario is a tool for defining your perceptions about alternative futures in which your present-day decisions might play out. The method helps you think more imaginatively about the future and ask "What if?" questions that challenge your assumptions. Scenarios appear as a set of stories built on plots that we carefully construct on the basis of logic, counter-intuitions, and our research about how events could unfold for you.

What if America lost World War II‬? In "The Man in the High Castle," executive producers Ridley Scott and Frank Spotnitz explore an alternative future after an Axis victory.

Imagination gives you foresight for how the world could change

HOW DO WE USE IT FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING?

Scenarios immerse you into a set of divergent thought experiments that prepare you for change. They allow you to more freely exchange views with colleagues by reversing critical assumptions about the future. Participants can step into each future “world” and experiment together on their intentions, plans, or strategies.

WHAT VALUE DOES IT ADD?

We use scenarios to help you understand the different forms the future could take. They function as tools for testing your strategies against future possibilities. They allow you to explore multiple ways a highly complex or uncertain situation can develop.
